Lapin Lazuli

Weddings are supposed to be a time of celebration in the union of two. If Tsukinowa knows that, then why does he still feel the need to protect Porom when she's made her choice of an outsider?

Background

Lapin Lazuli is yet another crossover comic involving characters from Final Fantasy IV and Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns. In the rather horribly done sequel, the ninja youth Tsukinowa is said to have feelings for the white mage, Porom, despite a difference in maturity whether or not there is an age difference remains to be seen as there is no official statement on such. Since playing about with crossovers and crack pairings in general, I wondered how Tsukinowa would receive the news of her marriage to Kamil: angered, because Kamil is clearly an outsider/non-denizen of the Blue Planet without a noted occupation? What makes the florist special over him? Why did they marry in such a hurry? He goes away for like a year and a half, then returns to Mysidia to settle differences, noting various things along the way, but no one will tell… Right?

(Yes, I'm well-aware this is crack to the max, but it gives me something to dabble in? Haha.)

Year 1, Spring

• Porom and Kamil marry seemingly out of the blue (according to Tsukinowa, who thought it odd Porom hadn't been keeping in touch).
• Tsukinowa accompanies Edge, Rydia, and the other three Eblan ninjas to Porom's and Kamil's wedding, feeling betrayed.
• Tsukinowa disappears for a short time to Bab-il's ruins to meditate.

Year 2, Autumn

• Tsukinowa makes his way to Mysidia with every intention of confronting Porom; is confused to see a tiny Lieselotte - about a year and a half old - running around the House of Prayer. Suddenly realizes why Kamil and Porom married in a hurry but wonders who else knows, further angering him on being left out.
• (Tsukinowa is also unraveled when Kamil comes in to "play hero" to a crying Lieselotte, giving the ninja a very cold reception as he takes her from his arms and soothes her in a rather self-serving voice — ie: "don't worry, Lotte, my child; Papa will save you from the silly, scary ninja." Porom doesn't comment much, other than a quiet apology for Kamil's rude behavior when father and daughter leave the area).
• Tsukinowa makes the invitation of inviting Porom to Eblan to settle differences, pointing out that the atmosphere has clearly changed since Kamil came into her life.
• ( Porom approaches Kamil later on after the latter puts their daughter to bed for the night, wondering what to do. Kamil is angered she would even consider such a stupid proposition (considering Lieselotte is a hyperactive handful to take care of/how she often puts aside being a mother for duties to Mysidia, leaving him to primarily care for their child), but trusts/allows her to go anyway with the promise that she would leave should 'anything happen.' <— ambiguous, yes; but both mutually know. )
• Porom leaves about two days later but with regrets. She would never have an affair (completely devoted to Kamil), but thinks it somewhat unfair the way her husband spoke to her about placing duties to Mysidia before their child, but can "easily go off and let the kappa tempt her" with Tsukinowa (whom, according to Kamil, is 'still young and most boys have only one specific thing on their mind as they age into men, no matter what their primary occupations are.') She knows Kamil is right, but is unsure on how to deal with the situation appropriately, thinking the only way to speak to Tsukinowa is with him privately without the florist interfering.
• (aaaaaaannddd… I dunno how I want things to proceed from there, haha. =P)

• Lapin Lazuli actually has to do with the fact Tsukinowa associates himself with a rabbit in the sequel/things to do with the 'bunny in the moon' legend within Eblan/Mysidia's ties to the Lunarian moon. It's a dumb 'play on words' of 'Lapis Lazuli.' I'm SO CREATIVE YEAH.
• Tsukinowa is (somewhat) correct: the "reasoning" on Kamil's and Porom's marriage involves a large consumption of wine and a small surprise four weeks later, despite planning on marrying anyway (the date was advanced in haste upon learning). However, the only people who seem to know are Edward, Anna, Palom, Leonora, Minwu, and Rosa. Everyone else is either oblivious or doesn't make mention of it publicly, seeing as how Porom would be looked upon with disgust as both a high ranking White Mage and governing official (thankfully, Lieselotte is a late-term child which throws most people off, despite most of the public not taking notice of Porom's pregnancy until later on).
