Biography
Berlin has two older brothers, Ludwig and Gilbert, who represent West (Ludwig) and East Germany/Prussia (Gilbert). Although it has been hinted that she has three slightly younger brothers named Frankfurt am Main, Köln, and Munich. Together they represent modern-day Germany as a whole, and are often referred to (by the UK Brothers) as the Kraut Siblings.
Being a little child at the time, she remembers nothing of her father's, Germania's, death; only that she was since cared for by her brothers. Because Gilbert and Ludwig were almost always away in duty of the Templar Knights, Berlin sought attention by purposely attacking Warsaw Łukasiewicz when she was young; but it was later revealed that Berlin had a crush on him.
Because WWI was mainly Germany's war, Ludwig was away more so than Gilbert. Because Gilbert protected her, she didn't do battle.
During WWII, when the boss of Germany changed, was when Ludwig and Gilbert made Berlin train to fight. It was around this time that Roderich and Vienna Edelstein, who represent Austria, moved in with the three. Vienna instantly mimicing Berlin, even to this day. While her two older brothers battled the big countries, Berlin fought the enemy capitals.
When Italy entered the war on the Axis side, Berlin met Roma Vargas, sister and capital city of the Italia Brothers: Feliciano and Lovino. Roma and Berlin quickly formed a friendship, although nothing like the "friendship" Ludwig and Feliciano had. Kiku and Tokyo Honda, the representatives of Japan, soon followed. Tokyo became enraptured by Berlin, and often followed her about during the war, as he admired her strength and intelligence. When
